How to Mark Make
I then put some slip decoration onto my slab piece. I wanted to make sure that it was messy and hap hazard in order for the design to become warped as I roll it out. By doing this it allowed me to warp the clay and the slay that was incorporated in it, in order to create a that warped and distorted look that I wanted.

I began to plan out a design on my clay. The design itself is something I put together on the spot. I didn't think too much about it an decided to see what i could create.

Once it was rolled out, I used my tools and cut out several triangle pieces. When my tiles where done they were sent to the kiln. After they were fired we realised they we were terracotta, this actually worked nicely with the tiles overall. The mistake in not using cottage buff but rather terracotta seemed some what exciting. When they were removed from the kiln they had a burnt umber tone to them rather than a dull beige from the cottage buff. The terracotta give a better appearance overall.

Overall I found the mark making very fun to do. I liked the idea of warping the clay so that the marks and the slip decoration became distorted. The clay and slip decoration look almost as if it was created that way. Once the clay was fired and I got see how my tiles looked I was overly impressed with the development.
