Casey Baugh
Casey Baugh is an artist who specializes in oil paint and charcoal drawings. He has been producing art since he was 13, as well as professionally selling since he was 17.
Baugh's art has evolved overtime to become more narrative. He still maintains figures as his prime subject matter. To push his skills he is constantly experimenting as well as pursuing more complicated compositions.

Casey will start his work by making a soft shadow base of charcoal. Then he will work up his layers an add some definition to areas such as eyes etc. He then goes over light areas with a rubber to give the face light. Lastly he will added strong strokes which will be the shadows.
Casey's work is outstanding to me, as he manages to develop such a defined and detailed piece of work whilst using such delicate medium. The charcoal manages to become a photographic piece of work all through the skills of Casey. The work is so detailed and precise that it feels unreal. The use of acetone in some of his pieces is almost a reminder that the artwork is simply just charcoal.
