Black light is a series by Danish photographer Keld Helmer Peterson, who is greatly recognised for his abstract black & white photographs. His work was the inspiration for the experiment of photos which were created today.
I captured many photos so I could experiment and make something similar to his work. I worked on capturing some interesting shots for experiments.
Once I had edited my images in photoshop, I went onto manipulate the image using the distort tool in order to develop a bizarre photo.
I wanted to create some layers on my images. I was ultimately inspired to try and create some double exposures.
Doing this backlight work has been inspiring, as I can imagine myself using this technique in the future. I was invested in the idea of creating such striking and bizarre photographs. The manipulation really added to my aesthetic as well as incorporating the same style as the artist.
The simplistic style of black and white in photographs gives the photos something more than just a typical coloured image. I find the contrast rather exciting an I wish to see what I can capture in the future in just black and white.
