Keld Helmer Peterson
Keld Helmer Peterson was a Danish photographer who achieved a widespread international recognition in the 1940s & 1950s for his abstract striking monotone photographs.
In his early career Keld was inspired by radical image experiments during the avant garde photography periods during the Bauhaus period.
Held creates his black and white images using a flatbed scanner and his camera to achieve his famous stylised photos.
When he creates his unique images Keld would create a double exposure on film then re-expose the image to develop a new form.
Keld's work has become very influencing, I find that my recent work is almost similar to what Keld's photos possess. The sharpness in black that just simply manifests in the photo is captivating. I find that they all hold a geometric style to them as well. I find myself looking at puzzling shapes that can be confusing as to what it actually is I'm looking at. His work has definitely become inspiring to me an I hope to refer back to his work in the future.
